A Mountain of IOU's
President Donald Trump will enter the White House having to take charge of a mountain of IOU's.
The stated U.S. National Debt is $36-37 Trillion. Current projections anticipate this figure to be close to $50 Trillion in 2028. Trillion with a "T."
The current $37 Trillion figure does NOT include other massive liabilities that are known as "Unfunded Liabilities," such as Medicare, government pensions, etc., that the federal government is legally obligated to pay out in the future. When you take Unfunded Liabilities into account, we're well over $100 Trillion, with some estimates ranging above $200 Trillion.
The reality is that at some point in the near future, somebody, a lot of somebodies, are not going to get paid. When this happens, things will begin to rapidly unravel as confidence in the system falls apart. There is also a good probability a larger and unanticipated financial event will bring the system down without warning.
President Trump is the best man to crash land this plane and set the country on the right course, but no one can stop the financial destruction that is coming.
